But perhaps the little slots on the bottom hint at some sort of attachment like the HubPro (zip ties?). Currently due for launch in April.Īs you say Roger, it looks from the initial presentation images as if they have conceived it to sit on the pier, not on the scope (which defeats the object of it).

Naysayers assert it's just a Pi box with power outputs that you can make yourself for £60, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Will run a version of PHD, although it includes guiding software in StellarMate. However the down side is it runs under EKI, Indi and some new applications to drive everything (was just getting to grips with APT). The StellarMate runs at $179, if Atik come in with a Pi powered box fulfilling the StellarMate brief (which includes rapid plate solving and polar aligning) with power outputs at £250 or less it could be an interesting product. The AtikBase is supposed to have cross platform (Apple, Android and Windows) IOT support, and include controlling (and powering) mount, camera and dew band(s) + a focuser controller + ST4 from a 12V power source. The StellarMate is a Pi based box running everything on USBs via wifi, bluetooth or ethernet. It will be designed to work with the software platform for the StellarMate ( ).

I suspect most people already knew about this, but I just found out. I just can't get the POTH Hub to not freeze the ASCOM and PHD2 programs, even after multiple computer restarts and uninstalling and reinstalling ASCOM.Atik are working on a new product, the Atikbase featuring single point control and connectivity for telescope and cameras. I CTL-ALT-DELETE it out, then try to connect just the ASCOM driver on the COM port and it works fine. Every time I select POTH Hub, ASCOM and PHD2 freezes. I figured that I'd just manually enter in the DEC info for the calibration calculation on PHD2, no big deal.īut now I can't get Stellarium and PHD2 to share the COM port anymore. I verified that the DEC reading was being sent correctly when I was using just PHD2 on the COM port. I was a able to use the NexRemote's virtual COM port to share the port with PHD2 and Stellarium using the ASCOM POTH Hub when selecting my mount in PHD2.Įverything worked fine, except the DEC reading was not being sent from the mount to PHD2 when sharing the COM port with Stellarium. I was running NexRemote with Stellarium and PHD2. So I was able to get everything working earlier today.
